Quality executive experience for 25 years servicing customers and paying taxes
in Colorado. "I have made my living by getting results in the real world!"
"Fresh new ideas and answers!" |
Transplanted from the Midwest with her husband. She has been a homemaker, Jewish
community service employee, and Denver City Council member.
No "real world" business experience. |

Believes in free market "private sector" solutions to problems. Government is usually
"the problem" and not "the solution". |
Laments the forced departure of liberal senator Ken Gordon because of voter approved
"term limits." She is eager to join her "great friend" Bill Ritter to partner up
on finding government solutions to problems.
"More Taxes-More Regulations!" |
|
Has a written platform of real world solutions to Colorado's biggest problems called
the "Right Changes" contract with the people.
|
Has no written platform. She openly expresses her desire to help Bill Ritter implement
his agenda. Does this sound like one party domination and control of your life?
Does she have any ideas of her own?
|
Wants to reallocate government gambling revenues to pay for a privately insured
group "large claim" policy for all non-medicaire Colorado citizens. Individuals
and families will be responsible for covering themselves for small claims in a totally
re-invigorated free market for supplemental coverages and HSA's. Health care is
a private service that should be shopped for and purchased by consumers just like
any other product or service.
"We are not the Soviet Union!"
|
Publically states that : "Healthcare is a basic human right that everyone is entitled
to!" She wants to socialize Colorado Healthcare under a single payer system and
create a new Colorado income tax to pay for it. Your premium tax will depend upon
your federal taxable income.
This will eliminate your "healthcare choice" in Colorado. |
|
Has creative ideas to increase our energy production including an innovative idea
for oil shale processing. Will support all "common sense"
reductions in taxes and regulations on oil and gas producers for our largest state
industry and job generator. |
Will go along with Bill Ritter on his already well publicized plans to tax and restrict
energy development.
|
Will work to eliminate Colorado income and property taxes on most small business
owners; will make the whole state an "Enterprise Zone"; will dramatically reduce
Colorado income taxes on working families with dependent children.
"I will uphold the provisions of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR)."
|
Will again go along with Bill Ritter (and the democratic majority in both houses)
to find creative ways to get around the TABOR restrictions and increase your Colorado
taxes.
Everyone has already heard about the Bill Ritter "Mill Levy Freeze attempt." |
|
Wants Colorado to take responsibility for providing up to four years of college
to all qualified Colorado students. He will pay for this from private corporate
grants, military grants, bloated endowment funds, and wealthy individual grants.
Our colleges need to stop the liberal politicking and execute their primary function
of educating students to make it in the "real world." Private industry greatly needs
our educated workforce and is willing to help us pay for it. Working families should
be freed from the burden of excessive tuition. |
Speaks of the need to improve the standards in P-20 education following Bill Ritter's
outline. She also wants to create an incentive program to hold onto the best teachers.
I agree with these measures. She loses me however when she talks about increasing
taxes to fund more of the failing public school programs already in place.
|
Supports the conduct of a full accountability audit on the "real" allocation of
the tax increases that came from Referendum C and other similar increases. This
money was supposed to be spent on improving our roads, and bridges, and schools.
"Where did it really go?"
This question needs to be fully answered before we talk about allocating more money
for infrastructure and schools. |
Talks about the need to increase taxpayer funding for crumbling bridges, roads,
and schools. There is no mention of accounting for the effectiveness of past funding
measures. Only the urgent need to create new government programs to do more of the
same.
|
|
Has a totally good business record with no “conflicts of interest.” Believes in
the “win-win” philosophy in all business and government transactions and relations.
Will enter office with no conflicting family or other outside relationships.
|
Has a record on Denver City Council that has been the subject of close scrutiny.
The most immediately notable is the recently highlighted involvement of her and
her lobbyist son in some of the competitive negotiations for DIA parking contracts.
This came up in her primary election battle. How does a city council post serve
as preparation for a state Senate post? Isn’t this a totally different job?
|
This election will give the voters of senate district 35 and Colorado a clear cut
choice. Will we choose the path of more freedom and growth or the other path of
higher taxes and government socialism?
Government only exists because we pay for
its existence with our taxes. " Government exists only to serve us!" |
